Fluorite with Calcite (rare locale!)

We were as surprised as you probably are, to see this shocking, gemmy, finely formed fluorite crystal turn up in a collection we purchased from a mine engineer in Turkey. For whatever reasons, specimens recovered from all sorts of productive economic mines in this country seldom come to the collector market. The specimen is a fine miniature, with a totally gem lavender-colored fluorite perched on minimal matrix, accented with sparkling white calcite crystals. Note that the crystal shows a lot of complexity, and we believe it is a spinel twin, with some odd modifications (seems like dodec faces poking out of the top, but there also seems to clearly be a twin plane). Sadly, in a collection of over 100 specimens self collected at various mines in Turkey over decades, we only obtained this one fluorite as yet - and do not expect another. It is perfect, undamaged, and sparkling. If this were from China or Naica (Mexico), I would be much less surprised and still value it nicely as a fine gem fluorite miniature.
