A darling 8 mm flattened calcite rhombohedron is dramatically perched atop the large fluorite octahedron on this RARE and sculptural large specimen from a limited 1990s find, named the Blue Pocket, from the well-known Xianghualing Mine of China. The striking translucent octahedrons have very dense stepped-growth faces, that give the crystals a fanciful, shimmering frosted look. Backlighting reveals the subtle color-zoning and phantoms, that enhance the quality of the crystals. The impressive large octahedron is 5.3 x 4.8 x 4.5 cm tall. Pristine except for the noted periphery wear, which is certainly acceptable in the the context of this piece. Rich purple fluorite fluorescence and pink fluorescence on the cute calcite crystal.
