Item Description

Here we have a hard to find Fluorite specimen from the lesser-known Four de Cluzel Mine in the Department of Tarn in southwestern France (about 60 miles northeast of Toulouse). While these are contemporary specimens, they still are not commonly seen for sale. Their enticing rich golden color, combined with good-sized, sharp, lustrous cubic crystals makes for very attractive and desirable specimens. This piece is a very attractive specimen featuring a predominant, sharp, well-formed 5.3 cm cubic crystal with good internal translucency and a "druse" of little sparkling white Quartz crystals on a few sides, sitting on matrix. There is a cleave on one corner, but otherwise the piece is in good shape. If you collect worldwide Fluorites, or specifically French Fluorites, this is something that I'll bet you don't have in your collection, and it's a worthwhile pickup for the size, quality and color.
