Item Description
RARE and beautiful yellow fluorite cubes from this classic English locale in Cumbria, England's classic Iron district Most fluorite from the Hilton Mine has come out in only a few small finds over many years. This exceptional small cabinet plate hosts a rich covering of rich yellow, gemmy and lustrous cubes, to 1.5 cm. The mine operated sporadically from the early 19th century until 1963 after which it was occasionallyw orked by intrepid underground collectors (MINDAT). Ex Richard Rossi Collection. Richard is a Senior Fellow of the Mineralogical Record. Rich purple fluorescence, as you would expect from many English fluorite localities.
