Item Description
From the discovery in 2017 were are proud to offer this wonderful large cabinet cabinet size specimen of these unique and interesting Fluorites in the auctions. Attention Fluorite collectors! As we've mentioned previously, we acquired a small parcel of these exciting Fluorite specimens from a good friend in Pakistan who confirmed that they were from the locality at Koh-i-Maran. These specimens are unlike anything we've seen from Pakistan as they seem to have formed outside of the typical pegmatites and metamorphic deposits that we are used to seeing around this area. A few other dealers in Pakistan have confirmed the locale for reference, as there was some debate to their exact origin. With that said, this fantastic display specimen is loaded with dozens of beautiful gemmy / translucent, well-formed, sharp, "stacked" groups of cubic crystals of Fluorite free of matrix. The large composite group of crystals at the top of the specimen measures 6.7 cm on edge. The coloring is what really makes this piece special. First off, I need to point out that it does peform a color change depending upon the light under which it's viewed. In indoor lighting, you will see a more predominant purple hue with some pink highlights, but those colors turn to BLUE outdoors in sunlight. In addition to the purple/blue color, you can see the edges transition into a white/colorless hue in some places, but the most intriguing color on the piece are the rarely seen SMOKY hues on the edges of the crystals! The colors look best when the piece is backlit both indoors and outside. No real major damage on the display side (one corner of the big crystal group at the top of the piece is contacted) and it's beautiful all the way around. Originally priced at $3,500 in the inventory, and a great bargain for the size and quality. If you collect Fluorites, be sure to pick up this eye-catching colorful specimen from an obscure and fairly new locality!
