Item Description

Lovely specimen of purple Fluorite octahedrons from classic early 2000s finds in rural China, with the sharp octohedra perched on an earlier generation of massive green fluorite and anchored by quartz. The sharp crystals populate a white Quartz matrix from which they were etched, and the contrast, as well as their distribution, is very attractive. The largest octahedron is 1.8 cm on edge, and the Fluorites on the Quartz create a sculptural and aesthetic landscape. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
