Item Description

An exceptional and rare fluorite combination from this well-known deposit. A sharp, 6.0 x 4.0 cm, glassy, translucent, mint-green fluorite octahedron with dense stepped-growth faces is dramatically overgrown with quartz points and is very aesthetically set on the matrix. The matrix includes, uncommon for the locale, sharp, lustrous, cassiterite crystals with flashes of golden-yellow translucence. The large cassiterite is 9 mm. Specimens of this outstanding quality came out only in the early to mid-1990s. The mine closed in 1996. Purple fluorescence. Valued at $1000 for rarity and combination quality. Ex Mervyn Ford Collection.
