Fluorite with Phantoms

A mesmerizing fluorite with sharp patterns unique and immediately recognizable:  the cubes themselves have stairstep formations, sharp phantoms, and the piece is so translucent they look like almost no other fluorite....clear provenance and style from this Namibian location, found in only a few pockets. The two most notable pockets featuring this combination of the crystal color, pattern, phantom orientation, and preparation style are the Diamond Pocket and the so-called Polish Prodigy Pocket (mined in 2010, but kept private till 2016-17 and then sold as a lot at Tucson that I stupidly passed on before the show!). The large crystal here is 3.7 cm across, and has a sharp cubic phantom of just under 2 cm. Note the angle of rotation, where the cube within and the fluorite without are rotated with respect to another, the same, in every crystal! This is , after considering the slight differences between the two and feedback from a few collectors who know the material well, more likely from the Diamond Pocket - admittedly very similar to the  Polish Prodigy Pocket. This was found in 2007 and now only turns up in collections. So, this was purchased and held, and now is a contemporary classic from the mine. What is nice, is because they were prepped as thin plates so that with any decent backlighting you can see sharp, intense purple phantoms within.  These seldom turn up for sale again on the market.
