Fluorite (''phantom'' crystals) on Quartz

A gorgeous small cabinet specimen from Chifeng featuring many richly colored modified / stepped crystals of Fluorite showing octahedral form with cubic faces with strong green color on the exterior, and purple "phantom" cores when backlit sitting atop light grey colored prismatic, "cactus"-esque Quartz matrix. When you look closely, you can see the purple cores of the crystals have a much more pronounced octahedral shape as opposed to the more cubic style of the outer green portions of the crystals. The majority of the Fluorites have interesting thin white outlines on the broad cubic faces, unlike anything I can remember seeing from the area. No damage that I can see on the front/display side of the piece, but the back is contacted in a few spots where it was separated from the pocket wall, and there is a saw mark on the bottom, but that actually allows the piece to sit on its own for easy display without a base or clay. Overall it's a distinctive and certainly unusual style, not just for Chifeng, but almost anywhere else in China, which is really saying something considering how many specimens have come out of in the last couple decades.
