Item Description

A beautiful specimen from the Stoneco Quarry in Junction, Ohio featuring a predominant, sharp, well-formed, gemmy cubic crystal of Fluorite measuring 2.6 cm on edge, associated with several soft golden colored scalenohedral crystals of Calcite on matrix. When backlit, the Fluorite crystal shows a beautiful "phantom" effect, with a deep purple "core", and a more vivid glowing purple color on the exterior edges. The main Fluorite crystal has some interrupted growth on the top left corner/edge, but it's actually crystallized with small cubic faces that I can see with a loupe. This spot might appear to be damaged, but it's actually re-crystallized ("re-healed"). A good overall example from this well-known locality.
