Item Description

This long storied historic U.S. locality has produced some of the world's finest Calcite and Fluorite specimens extant. Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the Elmwood mine, some of them are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. The classic purple Fluorites are a favorite among collectors, and it's easy to see why. This piece is bursting with some of the best "grape-jelly" purple color Fluorite cubes that you could ask for from Elmwood. This piece is virtually undamaged and nearly every Fluorite cube has at least one phantom. If that wasn't enough, the Fluorites are sitting atop good quality, lustrous, translucent, reddish-brown Sphalerite crystals. These pieces are well known classics from the U.S. and this one really has it all from the standpoint of quality, size and displayability. The largest Fluorite crystal measures nearly 2 cm on edge. Valued at $1750.
