Item Description
A classic Elmwood fluorite, of large size! This specimen shows off a dominant crystal emplaced on a black sphalerite matrix. It is one of the rare styles that have contrast between the surface textures of the faces and the corners. The faces are externally slightly frosted, and, to 8 cm on an edge. The cores of the crystals are colored a light champagne hue and are quite translucent. A characteristic of SOME Elmwood fluorites is that each corner exhibits a gemmy window into the interior of the crystals due to the solution effects in the pocket, and you see those fantastic gem corners here! The piece is spectacular on display but has some very minor damage on a few side corners. 1700 grams...hefty!
