Item Description
The Kara Oba tungsten deposit produced both ore and fine mineral specimens during the 1980s through the early 1990s. Among these minerals were specimens of green Fluorites with different habits, and sometimes they were on Smoky Quartz. This toenail features green cuboctahdrons (one on back damaged) to 7 mm, growing on a sharp, greyish Smoky Quartz. There are even some sharp and lustrous Pyrite cubes that add interest to the piece. This is attractive and representative for this fine locality, and is immediately recognizable as being from Kara Oba. Unfortunately, the mine closed in 1996.
