Fluorite on Smoky Quartz

Item Description

Interesting combination of etched octahedrals of lavender to gray Fluorites preferentially sitting on numerous well formed, glassy, jet black Smoky Quartz crystals from Kazakhstan. This is a very unusual piece from this location showing enticing contrasting textures of the softer forms of the etched individual Fluorties, up the 1 cm, against the lustrous sharp lines and terminations of the Smoky Quartz. The piece is in great condition with only periphery edge wear. Upon closer examination there is also a very minor sprinkling of micro crystalline Pyrite here and there on some of the octahedral faces. A very appealing architectural piece with good three dimensional relief that just has an inviting look to it. Ex. Robert E. Reynolds Collection.
