Item Description
A very AESTHETIC Elmwood combination specimen of fluorite on sphalerite from the Consie Prince Collection. A beautiful intergrown cluster of highly lustrous, nearly transparent, light purple fluorite cubes to 2.5 cm with riveting, stepped-growth faces and striking, darker purple color-zoning on the edges are very jauntily set on the 3-dimensional matrix of splendent, black sphalerite crystals with ruby-jack, gemmy highlights. The isolated, 1.0 cm fluorite cube on the corner is a stunner. The super piece displays well from two different views, as you can see, and the one cleaved corner on the large fluorite cube is certainly not a detraction. Once relatively common, Elmwood specimen of this quality are rapidly disappearing from the market with the closing of this classic locality. Valued at $900.
