Fluorite on Quartz, with Hyalite Opal

this miniature is a combination of Hematite-included Quartz decorated with several zoned purple Fluorites. The distinctive and gemmy Quartz crystals range up to 2 cm, with the Hematite concentrated in the lower half of the crystals. This creates the appearance of rich 'Citrine' grading into clear Quartz: a very attractive look, if not a totally correct interpretation. Add to this five beautifully formed, sharp, zoned purple octahedral Fluorites, gemmy and up to 1 cm on edge, and you have an unusual and highly aesthetic piece. And if that wasn't enough (and it is), this specimen is amazing under UV light, both shortwave and longwave. Under longwave, the Fluorites glow a rich royal blue, while under shortwave the Hyalite Opal glows its classic bright green from underneath the Fluorites. The effect is mesmerizing.
