Fluorite on Quartz (rare quality)

Lustrous and slightly translucent, rich, deep purple cubes of fluorite, to 2 can in length, are festooned on a matrix of drusy white quartz. Both the color and form contrasts add significant value to the specimen. Although there was a large production of this some years ago (5-6?), very few specimens reached this quality in terms of color of fluorite, set against pure white quartz; size; condition; and overall aesthetics. Even buying in China at the time, these were expensive in quality. Honestly we bought a big lot at the time and sold them at a fair fast profit, but saw a certain other dealer who buys wholesale decorative large pieces marking these up about literally 5-10X more than we did at the time - and they sold, giving you an idea for how popular the material is. Most of them are flat color plates but this one uniquely has great color separation and the fluorites really stand out better than usual, and is overall both large and in excellent condition. The piece is magnificent in a case. Such examples have been seen at shows in the USA recently (2018-2019) priced at $5000-10,000 for similar examples with several dealers. It will be remembered as a very special Chinese mineral find. This is one of the better ones in the size, and we value it $4000-5000
