Item Description
Specimens from the Anaconda Tunnel are virtually impossible to find on the market, and although its best known for its telluride species, this is a wonderful piece of Fluorite that would make a great addition to any collection. While Fluorite is not unheard of from Cripple Creek, we don't see much of it out there for sale. This piece came with a label stating it's from the Anaconda Mine (Tunnel) and is covered with tiny beautiful purple colored crystals of Fluorite sitting on a matrix of steel-blue colored botryoidal Chalcedony. The Fluorites are indeed crystallized, but they are quite small, and you really need a strong lens / microscope to really see the detail. If you collect Colorado minerals, or species from Cripple Creek, do not miss out on this one. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. You can read Gary's obituary here https://www.dcourier.com/news/2019/apr/27/obituary-gary-richard-weaver/. Valued at $600.
