Fluorite on Quartz (Old! circa 1930s) Ross Lillie Coll.

Item Description

A 1.4 cm pretty grape-purple, lustrous, translucent, fluorite cube with frosted faces has beautiful crisp color-zoning and is dramatictally set on this rare old-timer from the Ross Lillie Collection # 0128. The limestone matrix plate is coated with mounded clusters of scintillating drusy quartz crystals. A very fine and RARE combination from this obscure old mine collected in the calculated 1930s. Ross's handwritten note on the back of his label says it all.
