Item Description

Fluorite specimens are RARE from this obscure Alaskan island near well-known Prince of Wales Island, renowned for outstanding epidote specimens. Sharp, pretty mint-green, translucent octahedrons with satin luster faces densely cover the large sculptural undulating specimen. The striking 6.0 cm vug on the end hosts the largest octo at 1.5 cm and is a fine bonus. Part of the underlying quartz matrix has a very interesting boxwork pattern, adding character. A bit of bruising is certainly only a modest detraction. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired from Bernard in 1991. Bright blue-white fluorescence. An outstanding rich large rarity from the locality. A must for the species or locality collector.
