A showy, classic specimen of the older distinctive Fluorites from the famous De'an Mine in China. These beautiful specimens were found in the early to mid 2000s, and the style combined with the unique color and the signature matrix is very distinctive. This small cabinet specimen features many bi-colored, sharp, octahedral crystals showing smooth, distinct faces, characteristic of the locality. The largest crystal measures 2.0 cm across. The Fluorites feature green and purple hues, and when backlit, one can see the coloring of the crystals much better. The Fluorites have been etched out of the underlying Quartz matrix, which shows a soft white fibrous form, and there is an earlier generation of green Fluorite underneath. Please note that the base of the piece has saw marks where it was trimmed. These are soon-to-be-classic specimens from this well-known locality in China. Valued $850.
