Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY variety are very rare from this old and obscure Cornwall locale - Wheal Devonshire. The striking, 360-degree pineapple with tail of stout, glassy, milky quartz points is highlighted by a 3.1 cm wide cluster of lustrous and translucent, pretty mint-green, fluorite cuboctahedrons with intense stepped-growth faces. Brassy, chalcopyrite sphenoids tucked between the quartz points are a fine and stark, accenting contrast. Complete all-around and pristine. Undoubtably and old-timer, but no proof. Ex A.K. Borland Collection, a prominent mid-20th Century English collector. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $375, five or more years ago. Excellent, old and very rare material from this locale.
