Item Description

Most people think of secondary ore minerals when it comes to Lavrion, but there are other minerals found in the district, including some attractive Fluorites. This piece is a wonderful example hosting a few sharp, well-formed, very gemmy, cubic crystals measuring up to 7 mm on edge, partially enveloped with sparkling Quartz crystals on matrix. The Fluorites show eye-catching internal "phantom" color zoning lines with purple "cores" and light green exterior edges. Good condition overall, though there is some roughness in a few spots. The piece was collected in December 2011. An attractive piece of this uncommon material from the Sounion Mine No. 19.
