A striking 4.4 cm fluorite crystal is beautifully placed in the center of the large undulating quartz matrix covered with sparkly drusy quartz from this well-known locale. The sharp pretty purple translucent cuboctahedron is enhanced by the subtle stepped-growth on the satin lustre faces. Another fluorite is partially uncovered and there are more crystals beneath the drusy quartz. The De'an fluorite mine is famous for such fluorite and quartz combinations and this is a very fine large example highlighted by a single crystal. Ex Dr. Steve Smale Collection.
