Fluorite on Quartz ''casts'' after Laumontite

Several years ago (2001) there was a discovery of these interesting and unusual Quartz specimens in the Cripple Creek District by Quinton Cross and Ralph Buck. This material grew in semi-stalactitic forms featuring hollow "casts" of Quartz after what we were told are preexisting crystals of Laumontite. THIS piece has the rare distinction of featuring gorgeous lilac colored Fluorite all over the piece, which is rarely seen in my experience with minerals from this mine. Minor associated Barite is present on the specimen as well. Many of the pieces from this discovery suffered from serious damage problems, but this piece is actually in great shape on the display side, though a few contacted areas can be see. This is an odd piece and even stranger coming from Cripple Creek. Priced at $1,000 in our inventory.
