Item Description

The famous Blanchard Mine has been the source of amazingly rich blue and purple Fluorite specimens for years. They are some of the most recognizable Fluorites from any US locality for their color and often good sized display specimens. This piece is a great example of said material, hosting several, well-formed, gemmy, rich blue color (with some colorless zoning on the edges) cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.1 cm on edge sitting on stubby Quartz crystals on matrix. There are some contacted areas on the piece, so it's not damage free, but it's still a very colorful and alluring specimen of this seldom seen material from one of the most classic localities in New Mexico. It also sits nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay. If you collect Fluorites, minerals of New Mexico or association pieces, this is a nice example from this renowned locality.
