Fluorite on Quartz

Item Description

A few bi-colored, sharp, octahedral crystals of Fluorite on Quartz from the De'an Mine in China. The crystals range in color from almost completely purple in the smaller crystals, to mostly green with a thin purple exterior on the largest crystal. The Fluorites have smooth, distinct faces, characteristic of the locality. The largest crystal measures 2.2 cm across. When backlit, one can see the coloration of the crystals much better. The Fluorites have been etched out of the underlying Quartz matrix, which shows a soft white fibrous form. Contemporary classic material from this well-known locality in China.
