Fluorite on Quartz

Item Description

A beautiful and attractive Fluorite from Bingham, New Mexico. The sharp, well-formed cubes have a beautiful rich glow, when backlit and this excellent piece has several fine display views. Depp purple translucent fluorite cubes, measuring up to 1.8 cm with silky luster faces are very aesthetically set on the mounded matrix of preferentially oxide-tinted drusy Quartz. This is a classic style and color of fluorite from the famous mines at Bingham.
Ex David L. Stoudt collection, and originally from the collection of Kay Robertson (#9492), who acquired the piece from Willard Perkin at the 1982 Tucson Show. . Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
