Fluorite on Quartz

Item Description

Bright yellow Fluorites are set aesthetically and contrast nicely with white Quartz on this beautiful small cabinet piece from Aouli, Morocco, which is a dramatic contrast you can see from far away. There is one large and several smaller vivid yellow, transparent Fluorite cubes perched on a druse of sparkling Quartz and accented by several, brown, 2 mm Siderite crystals. The largest Fluorite measures 2.4 cm on edge and the others are between 3 mm and 1.5 cm in size. The color is TOP saturation for the location, way beyond the norm! The cores of a few of the Fluorite crystals are somewhat clouded, while the corners and edges appear gemmy and translucent. This is an incredibly attractive and well-balanced specimen, with only two slight imperfections on two of the crystals (minor dings in context, and this can be fixed in a lab if desired, with a slight bit of restoration we thought was not needed). Very good for the locality, but just very good for ANY matrix yellow fluorite, as well. This is from the large Morocco display suite of the Erika Pohl collection.
