Item Description

This is a showy display specimen from the most well-known pegmatite district in Colorado. The granite of the Pikes Peak Batholith have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. There is no Amazonite on this piece, but it features some fine quality sharp, well-formed, purple, translucent colored cubic crystals of Fluorite on beige Microcline matrix. The largest Fluorite measures 1.2 cm on edge. The Fluorites show a slight bit of internal "phantoms" when they are backlit. Good quality all around with only a little bit of damage. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California.
