Fluorite on Fluorite

Item Description

This is a dramatic piece with both color and textural contrasts. The substrate of this colorful piece is pastel green, etched Fluorite that some of the crystals suggest were octahedrons. A later generation of lustrous, pale to medium violet-gray Fluorite cubes are nobly perched atop the sculpted green Fluorite. These violet-gray crystals are all lustrous, translucent cubes ranging from 1 to 2 cm at the front up to 3.5 cm for the stately crystals rising commandingly at the rear of the piece. There are four crystals of similar size here that are in parallel growth. These crystals have their top faces selectively frocked with whitish, 1 to 3 mm, bladed Baryte crystals that add to the overall aesthetics of the specimen. This cabinet piece not only diversity in color, but also textural contrast! This material came out circa 2010, give or take.
