Fluorite on Fluorite

Item Description

This is one of those specimens that at first glance is just casually noted as a Fluorite on Fluorite... okay.... interesting. Then the more you look at it, the more captivating the specimen becomes. It has a beautifully complex growth history starting with very small cubes, less than 1 cm at the base, that continue to develop with subsequent stepped growth cubes widening up to 3.8 cm in size. This first stage ends in translucent, buff to colorless smooth-faced cubic crystals with a very thin lavender outer zonation. A few of the cubes are even somewhat curved. The lavender Fluorite growth partially continues as small stepped growth cubic crystals. There is periphery contacting but the main display area is in very good condition. A particularly curious Fluorite that is uniquely unlike any other material. Don't overlook it. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl Collection.
