Fluorite on Calcite and Feldspar

Item Description

Choice cluster of GEMMY, mint-green Fluorite cubes from the well-known Erongo Mountains. The cubes average about 5 mm in size, have good luster, and a delicate color zoning that can range from the dominant green to purple to clear. Many of the cube corners have been modified, and the Fluorites rest on a matrix of weathered Feldspar. The Fluorite fluoresces blue and the feldspar red, which add to the quality of the piece. Overall, a very attractive, highly representative specimen from this region. Good aesthetics and interesting mineralogy.
