Fluorite on Calcite

Fluorites from the La Collada mining area in Spain are some of the most well-known examples of the species from any Spanish locality. The quality, color and gemminess of the crystals is renowned. This beautiful cabinet sized piece hosts several sharp, well-formed, textbook cubic crystals of pastel colored Fluorite measuring up to 2.4 cm on edge, sitting on big blocky off-white Calcite crystal. The Fluorites actually show a very slight color change from a soft blue color in sunlight to a gentle lavender shade in warmer indoor lighting, but we really couldn't find a decent way to show it in the video. Most of the crystals are in great shape, and only one of them (the crystal on the far right) has a bit of damage on the bottom. The crystals are quite gemmy, with slight "phantom" zoning on the exterior edges. The piece sits beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay. A wonderful example of these classic and iconic Fluorites. Valued $1,800.
