Item Description

A beautiful miniature sized example of the classic Fluorites from Berbes, Spain. This show piece features a few sharp, highly lustrous, VERY gemmy, well-formed, soft lilac colored cubes showing slight internal "phantom" color zoning" sitting atop bladed Baryte matrix. The largest Fluorite measures 2.0 cm on edge. The front of the piece is in great shape, with no major damage, but the obviously the back is contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0657). Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
