Item Description

This piece comes with an old hand-written label that almost certainly dates back around 100+ years, but unfortunately the only locality given is England. It's hard to say specifically where it could be from, so if anybody out there has some insight as to the origin of this specimen, please feel free to contact us. The piece hosts sharp, well-formed, gemmy cubes of beautiful golden-yellow Fluorite measuring up to 1.0 cm on edge associated with sparkling brass colored groups of Chalcopyrite and white stacked, almost columnar groups of Calcite with no matrix. It's not completely damage free, but still in good condition on the display side. As I mentioned, the old label that accompanies the piece is just as enticing as the specimen itself. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
