An impressive large, gemmy, 4.0 x 2.7 cm, gray fluorite cube with a glass-clear face showing a striking edge phantom is the highlight of this sculptural, old-time rich fluorite from the historic Alston Moor District of Cumbria. The surrounding gray fluorites have satin lustre faces and there are hints of purple under bright light. Scattered small dipyramidal quartz crystals are a fine and typical accessory. Blue-purple fluorescence. From a 19th century Zurich collection. Classic and showy old-time Alston Moor fluorite with quartz.
