Item Description
A large, old classic from this ancient fluorite mining district, here we have a impressive color-zoned specimen from the Obodda collection. The very glassy transparent cubes have golden-amber cores with pretty multi-hued, ice-blue outer zones. Herb Obodda had, until the mid-90s, one of the finest and most comprehensive fluorite collections ever assembled. I sold this piece at the time he broke it up, and got it back recently. Such large examples are rare, today. It is not free of damage, but it is pretty close, and displays very well by even modern standrads (particularly when backlit a bit to show off internal coloration). Valued $2000-2500. Mass is 1757 grams or 1.7 pounds! Bright fluorescence.
