Item Description
Sharp, translucent, pretty mint-green fluorite octahedrons, to 5.8 cm, with moderately lustrous, frosted, stepped-growth faces are very aesthetically set on the large same-style fluorite matrix on this sculptural and very fine example of this uncommon varietal from recent finds at the famous De'an mine. The back looks almost as good as the front on this high-quality two-sided example. I really like the way the two prominent octos are displayed along the crest of the piece. The basal periphery wear to the striking frontal display is certainly only a modest detraction to this classic and rare example. Excellent material from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 754. Rich purple fluorescence.
