Fluorite is RARE from any Catron County locality, that MINDAT lists. New Mexico pink and purple octahedrons come from the well-known deposits in Grant County, such as the Judith Lynn Claim. Gemmy and lustrous, vivid pink and colorless octahedrons with unetched waxy luster faces cover the matrix plate on the beautiful, colorful and RARE 2-color fluorite from an undisclosed locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5770 and acquired in the late 1960s at the San Diego Federation Show. Kay paid $18 for this. Not cheap. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Purple fluorescence. RARE and excellent New Mexico fluorite.
