Item Description
An impressive, sculptural, large specimen of sharp fluorite octahedrons from the recent, very highly touted finds at Riemvasmaak, South Africa (trickling out from about 2006-on, and recently winding down). This striking piece looks like a wide green halo of gemmy crystals around a more massive fluorite core. All of the many gemmy and lustrous octos, to 4.6 cm, have the rich grass-green color, unique to this locale. The color is INTENSE, deep green, very nice! Mark my words, these are contemporary classics. SOMEDAY, we will look back on these the way we do now for Illinois fluorites of 20-30 years ago, and wonder why they were so darned cheap, mark my words. This outstanding large plate is essentially pristine. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!! Valued at $1500-2000.
