Item Description
Large, translucent, mottled rich purple octahedrons to 3.3 cm with bubbly prism faces form an excellent specimen from this well-known locale. The broken base reveals the banded purple and green fluorite core. Interestingly, the green has much brighter fluorescence, than the purple. Bob Trimingham purchased this piece in 1976, and was obvious collected by ace field collector Dick Jones, who hid the true locality for a while. Dick named Catron County as his source.
