Shimmering satin luster, translucent, pretty purple fluorite octahedrons with scalloped faces cover the green fluorite and quartz matrix on this rich and showy example from the well-known Judith Lynn Claim. The large octo is 1.6 cm. Marketed as coming from Catron County for many years, until the true locality was discovered. Purple fluorescence. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5771 and acquired in the late 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic, rich and showy New Mexico fluorite.
