Item Description
A striking and excellent specimen of sharp fluorite octahedrons from the recent, very highly touted finds at Riemvasmaak, South Africa. The dramatic large octahedron, 7.8 cm, has a riveting, sawtooth termination. All of the gemmy and lustrous octos have the unique grass-green color, unique to this locale. The crystal faces have stepped-growth or light etching, giving a wonderful sculptural look. One "tooth" on the large octo termination is gently bruised, but has very minor impact on the overall dramatic quality of this piece. The color is INTENSE, deep green, very nice! Mark my words, these are contemporary classics. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!! SOMEDAY, we will look back on these the way we do now for Illinois fluorites of 20-30 years ago even, and wonder why they were so darned cheap, mark my words. Valued at $900.
