Item Description

Fluorite crystals of this large size, 4.2 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm, are rare from the renowned Huayllapon Mine of Peru, famed for outstanding rhodochrosites. The pristine, translucent and lustrous, pretty light sea foam-green octahedron is etched with stepped-growth faces and is dramatically perched on the side of a glassy, translucent, partially doubly terminated quartz crystal. Both ends of the quartz and a small area on the back side of the complete all-around quartz crystal are lightly bruised/contacted, but have very minimal impact on the overall fine quality of this outstanding combination. This is an uncommon and desirable, large fluorite combination specimen from this noted locale, circa the late 1990s. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection. Bright purple fluorescence. Valued at $1500-1750.
