Item Description
Pretty mint-green, frosted, translucent fluorite octahedrons are aesthetically set on the sculptural, blocky matrix. The large, isolated doubly terminated octo is 2.4 x 2.4 cm and crystals are surrounded by tiny calcite crystals. The matrix also has drusy quartz. This showy and excellent specimen is from the less well-known area near the famous mines at Dalnegorsk. Purple fluorite fluorescence and light pink calcite fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 01134CL and acquired in 1992, when FSU specimens were first reaching Western markets. Specimens came out during the 1990s, but never again. The District is best known for these green fluorite octahedrons and this is a highly representative combination example.
