Item Description
A showy, unusual and rare specimen from this less well-known fluorspar-barite-Pb-Zn mine. Wonderfully distinctive, colorless, gem, Fluorite cubes measuring up to 1.2 cm, are coated minor iron to create a two-tone effect. My favorite aspect of the piece is that the crystals are not a tighly intergrown mass like the few I've seen, but rather have excellent separation and form a great three-dimensional specimen. If you collect worldwide Fluorites, don't pass this one up, it's a superb example of the material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#13083). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
