Item Description
Well-balanced, rich, and very attractive plate composed of a classic Erongo suite. The underlying matrix is white Orthoclase, partially weathered - very similar to the well-known pieces on which you have seen sharp individual Fluorites. Except here the Orthoclase is covered by small, lustrous Schorls and hundreds of .3 -.4 cm Muscovite crystals. On the surface are many dozens of gemmy green Fluorites up to 2 cm. They are cubes modified by the octadron, and are tinted purple. The luster follows the faces, which is such a cool effect visually and mineralogically - very good luster on the rectangular faces and matte on the hexagonal faces. Adding to the specimen is a large and very impressive cluster of highly fluorescent Hyalite Opal that is 3.5 x 3.5 cm. A very good combination specimen
