Item Description
The famous Minerva Mine #1 is well known for amazing multi-color Fluorite specimens, though they are few and far between on the market these days. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Here we have a classic and eye-catching cabinet sized multi-color specimen of cubic Fluorite featuring sharp, well-formed crystals showing attractive color zones of soft golden-yellow with purple on the exterior edges. The piece displays wonderfully as you can see from the photo. It's in good condition on the front of the piece, though I can see a couple small nicks, so it's not 100% pristine. Priced at $1,000 in the inventory. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures".
