Item Description
A striking and aesthetic combination specimen from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine and the Herb Obodda dealer stock. A beautiful, pristine, 2.8 x 2.5 cm, interpenetrating pair of extremely glassy, translucent, classic, sea-green, fluorite cubes is very well-placed on the front of a large, well-formed, lustrous, stepped-growth, light pastel-pink, manganoan calcite rhomb. The field of melted-look galena crystals with a bit of chalcopyrite is a super accent and contrast. The top and right edges of the calcite are sharp and pristine, with the left edge being a cleave. Certainly a modest detraction to this very fine and showy combination piece. The fluorite was difficult to photograph, due to the extreme glassiness and internal refractions. SUPER fluorescence! MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! Herb valued this at $750 in the early to mid 1990s, when these came out. It is worth more today.
